Valentine's Day

February 14, 2014

We started the day with no real plans. Then Tom decided he needed to take a ride into town for "gas". This is our 47th Valentine's Day as a married couple and he has not missed one. Even out here in the desert he managed to come through.

After a late breakfast we decided to take a ride and check out some more of the metal sculptures by Ricardo Breceda. There are well over a hundred located in various areas in what is called Galleta Meadows. The work he does is amazing and beautiful. There is one more area where they are located we hope to check out before we leave. Then combining the pictures we have both been taking I plan on doing a blog page just on the sculptures.

When we were out and about I did manage to take a couple of pictures of the plant life in the area.

Barrel Cactus

Teddy Bear Cholla

Ocotillo

Not sure if this baby Tyrannosaurus Rex was thinking of eating the
Octillo or using it to hide behind.

The mountains south of us being lit up by the setting sun.

The sun slipping behind the mountains ending another beautiful day.

Tom grilled steaks, I added baked potatoes and salad. Tom opened a bottle of wine and we enjoyed a wonderful meal together. (The name of the wine Romance from the Orchard County Winery located in Door County Wisconsin.)

Hope everyone reading this had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

    1. We did and the scenery is beautiful. Though you had a better story to tell about your day.
      You and Yuma stay safe.
