Shopping and Checking for Another Way Out (Catch up Post)

Yesterday we left Pilot Knob. After spending three more days parked next to Shirley and Ken it was time for us all to move back towards Quartzsite. Our last Happy Hour together, Thursday night, was like all the others; the conversation and laughter never stopped. It has been wonderful spending this time together and getting to know each other a little better. We will miss seeing their travel trailer next door and are already looking forward to next time our paths cross.

Today we decided to head into Yuma and see if following S-24 into Yuma would be a good option for getting out of here versus going back through the construction. (Side note: in the end the only good way out was the way we came in and we made it out just fine. No further mishaps.)

While in Yuma we picked up some needed groceries. Plus, we stopped at Harbor Freight to picked up some solar lights, we had coupons...lol It will be nice to have a few lights in our patio area at night.

Heading down S-24.

We could see the workers busy picking crops as we drove south.

Then in this field we could see planting be done.

More crop harvesting as we continued into Yuma.

After finishing shopping and a quick lunch at Five Guys we headed back to the Imperial Dam LTVA and home.

A picture of the yellow barrels we hit yesterday.
Not really sure why they need to be so far over into the lane.

It has been pretty much cloudy all day and now we can
see blue skies ahead.

We are almost home and the there is a distinct line
between the clouds and the blue skies.

What we thought would be our last Happy Hour with Kim and Ken.
Left to Right: Kim, Ken, Ken, Shirley, Tom. my chair and wine.

The last of the sun light is shining through the clouds just minutes
before it dropped behind the mountains.

Then it was gone.

The mountains around us being touched by the last of the sun's light.

Some pretty pink in the sky as Kim and Ken head home.

More color as the light leaves us behind.

One last burst of color above where the sun left behind the mountains
and the day light leaves bringing darkness in this place.

It was a good day!
So glad you stopped by for a visit.
If you have a minute to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

  4. Wonderful pictures. Sometimes there is no reason for what construction workers do. Haha. Safe travels.
