The Days are Drifting By

 Thursday, November 20, 2025

Started our day pretty much like we always do. Tom made coffee and it was ready by the time I was up and moving. It was a little chilly out this morning so we stayed inside.

Not many clouds in the sky today but most of the ones hanging around looked like lovely fluffy ones.

Leaving Roadrunner.

On AZ-95 near Plomosa Road.

Getting close to Parker, AZ

I took this before the sun was setting as we were leaving to head
over to meet some friends for dinner at Silly Al's.

As I mentioned above we met our friends, Michelle and Doug, who were passing through on their way to see a new great granddaughter, this evening at Silly Al's. It has been a couple of years since we had seen them so it was great to get together. The conversation never stopped and the food was good. Remembering to take a picture would have been nice. I seem to have a theme going of not taking pictures of friends. Picture or no picture it was still a fun evening.

The days are quietly slipping by and we are doing our best to relax and enjoy them. Some one has to do it and we are happy to volunteer.

I just like the look of the mountains to the northwest of us as
the sun was setting.

The sun was setting behind clouds tonight.

Another beautiful morning sitting out enjoying the sunshine and our coffee.

Besides the Hummingbirds we have two other birds we have seen flying around the area. Though, I have not been able to catch both of them sitting somewhere together. Every once and awhile we can see this one sitting way on top of the Saguaro near us. He, I am pretty sure it is the male as it has a reddish head, was chirping away this particular morning and I was able to open my Merlin Bird ID and click on the Sound ID while he was doing so. It identified him as a House Finch. I checked and they do nest in Saguaros. It mentioned they often nest in abandoned cavities excavated by woodpeckers.

As always this guy is a welcome visitor.

Another golden sunset.

Saturday, November 15, 2025

It rained today not steady but on and off most of the day.

At one point the mountains disappeared from view in the mist.

The sun did try to join us.

But the clouds won out and set behind them tonight.

I made it up in time to see the sun pop up over the mountains.

The sun rise brought a beautiful brightness to the
world around us.

We went to Mass at Our Lady Queen the Peace here in Quartzite this morning. It is nice having an 11:30 AM Mass right here. After Mass we headed home for lunch then Tom went and got water to replenish or fresh water tank. Afterwards we took a ride over to Blythe to pick up a few groceries.

Some of the views along the way.
We were waved through the "Vegie" Inspection Station
then with barely anytime to react I saw the new California Sign.
I was surprised when I checked I had actually gotten a picture.

One of the things I hope to figure out this year is how to capture the picture of I-10 at night coming into Quartzsite. Either looking East or West or both. This is looking East and it looks like a ribbon of light going up the hill. Looking West it looks like two ribbons one red and one white.

This sort of gives you idea of what I am talking about.
This is looking East.

Two days in a row up before the sun.

Several Chemtrails in the sky this morning.

Another morning another picture of the Hummingbird.

The wood and cardboard is patiently waiting to be burned.
Do you see the dragon head peeking out?

The sun had set when Tom started our bonfire.

Our first bonfire of the year. Hopefully several more will follow.

So with this blog I have it totally caught up to real time since we arrived. Now to get us from the UP to Yuma...lol That will take a little longer.

If you have enjoyed the pictures I have put out there
or the words I have added that makes me smile.
If you have time to leave a comment they are always special to read.
No matter what I am glad you stopped by!
