Family and Last of a Beautiful Drive

We are presently in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving in Lower Michigan with our son, our daughter-in-law, along with four of our grandchildren. Now we are in the UP spending time with our daughter and her family which means time with three of our grandchildren. 

One of the things we have learned this year is how important moments are and these moments back in Michigan have been worth every mile of driving we did to get here.

Spent the night at the Powhatan Motel in Pocahontas, IL
Then a stop at Scooter's for coffee and we are on our way.
Cuteness: after you order your coffee they say scoot
forward to pick up your order.

Real cuteness: getting to see our youngest
grandchild fall asleep on the couch. 

Thursday, November 24, 2022 (Thanksgiving)

Playing poker with Papa, two more playing,
while our daughter-in-law puts together
delicious sides for dinner. Our son resting after
spending the night smoking the turkey.

We have a wonderful Thanksgiving with our son, daughter-in-law, and four of our grandchildren.

Four reasons that makes every mile worth it.

In the doorway of their home our son is holding his youngest
and the little one is waving and saying "See you later alligator"
over and over as we wave and drive away whispering,
"after while crocodile".

Crossing the Mackinac Bridge even though it is dark we
can see the lights of "home" in front of us.
