| Tom and I hope you all had a very Happy St. Patrick's Day! |
Tuesday, March 17, 2020
We were up, dressed and having our coffee early this morning and then the waiting game began. Waiting for parts and waiting for them to start working on the Stinger "B". The work started around 10 o'clock. (Not complaining just keep a record of our day.)
Looking at the bright side, yes I am truly trying to do that, we are inside our home relaxing.
In the early afternoon the needed parts arrived. The gentleman in charge decided to have the new belt put on and then start up the engine and see how the water pump did. The good news it is fine with no leaks. So they put the Stinger "B" back together and we are good to go tomorrow morning. Of course, there was the bill to pay but lets just say it was not as painful as we thought it would be. Thank you Shaw Diesel Performance for getting us back on the road as quickly as possible.
Tom and I both feel we have been treated well here in Vicksburg and look forward to being able to come back this way in the future. Lots of history in this area including the Vicksburg National Military Park.
Two other places I would like to mention. First, the Lady Luck Casino who said we could come in and park in their parking lot and when we were having a problem finding a place to move to said, no problem, stay as long as you need. Second, the Ameristar RV Park, which is a Casino Park. The Casino is closed because of the Coronavirus concerns. According to the woman I talked to this morning it includes the RV Park. When I explained what are situation was and we were looking to purchase a bladder of fresh water. Our tank was on empty. She said, to come over, as long as we could get there before 5 o'clock and if we needed to dump that was available, also. The Stinger "B" was not moving but Tom drove over with our bladder when he asked how much, she said on the house. It might not seem like a big thing but when you are on empty 40 gallons of water is a good thing to be able to get. Especially, when at the time we thought we might be here a second day.
Yes, we feel like we have been treated well and it is not the first time we have felt this way. Over the years we have had other issues, tires, brakes, overheating etc... and each time we have brought our rig in we feel whoever we dealt with made it a priority to get us back out on the road and at the same time not overcharging us. Several times we have had things looked at that have turned out to not be an issue and when we have asked how much do we owe the answer has been do not worry about it.
Thinking of all our Rving friends both from the US and Canada as they continue to travel. We hope you all stay healthy, have clear roads ahead, and safe travel days.
We are glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.
