Checking Something Off My "Wish" List (A Look Back)

Sunday, December 14, 2025

When we first get up in the morning it always seems like those first few hours just slowly drift by. They are not in a rush to get going and neither are we. Then all of a sudden it is 10 o'clock and when it is Sunday that means we need to be ready and out the door in a little over an hour, Mass is at 11:30. Unless we are in the desert then we barely have an hour, it takes a little more time to make our way out of the desert to the road. Yes, there are times when we are those last minute scramble people.

After Mass we stopped at the Mountain Cafe for breakfast. Then we thought, lets take a little ride, we got as far as the LaPosa South LTVA before deciding neither of us really felt like a ride. So Tom turned the "Jeep with No Name" around and we headed home.

We had not been back home very long when we heard voices close by and when Tom looked out the door he saw that Patsy and Bill had moved their chairs in the sunny lot between us, Ken had just pulled up, Kim is off on her own adventure, so Tom moved our chairs into the circle. Happy Hour with this group is always fun and today was not exception.

I took this picture just because I liked the look of the sky.

Happy Hour with Ken, Patsy, Bill, and Tom

When I first saw this golden/orange glow out the window
I though it was pretty and it was.

Then it turned into a very pretty orange glow.

When we are in the Quartzsite Area we mostly attend Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Mission here in Quartzsite. The Sacred Heart Parish Church in Parker is the main parish church and there are three missions connected to it. Our Lady Queen of Peace is one of them. There is also, St. John the Baptist Mission in Wenden and St. Kateri Tekakwitha in Poston. Once and awhile we have driven over the Blythe to attend Mass at St. Joan of Arc, or to Parker for Mass at Sacred Heart. Though we do enjoy attending Mass close by and we have found it to be a welcoming church community.

Next to the church there are two areas with benches.
They are perfect places to sit, rest, and reflect.

I only took one picture today and it is of a flower I quilled on the front of a card. Quilling is something I have wanted to learn how to do for a few years and today thanks to Patsy I had my first lesson. Not to mention a very lovely time learning. She knew I wanted to learn how to quill, it might have been because I mentioned to her several times I was jealous she was able to take several classes last year...lol  So when she offered to take the time to show me how I was thrilled. So thank you Patsy and I am looking forward to the next time...😊 hint...hint...Actually no hinting needed she has already offered a second lesson.

Not to bad of a start and a little check goes
next to quilling. I say little because there is a
lot more to learn.

The sunshine is coming through our windows as I finish writing this on Tuesday morning the last few days have been fun and we are looking forward to what the day will bring. Personally, I am hoping to add not subtract from my penny collection today. I am relying on the third time being the charm...🤞

A Look Back at our family and life during the time I was not blogging.

While I was on Blogging Vacation we had two of our grandchildren make their First Confession and First Communion, Our oldest grandson was confirmed and in June our daughter was confirmed. We, also, had one Baptism.

Proud Parents

Happy Grandparents

To witness our children bringing up their children in the Catholic Religion like we raised them, we were raised, and the generations before us were raised is a true blessing!
