My Pennies are Disappearing...😊 (A Look Back)

Monday, December 8, 2025

Another good day in the desert of Arizona. A little different start for us. Up and out the door before we could see the sun above the horizon. Its light was already gracing the sky as we pulled out of Park Place RV in the Jeep and there was a small group of clouds on the horizon showing a touch of color.

They just kept getting lighter as we drove along.

We were off to Parker for Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Today was the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and as Catholics it is a Holy Day of Obligation for us. After Mass we made a couple of stops to pick up a couple of cards and then a pick up at Walmart. Our last stop was the Human Bean for coffee to enjoy on our ride back to Quartzsite.

We are on AZ-95 and I kept hoping the sun would
make an appearance. Just before we made the turn onto
AZ-72 it peeked over the mountains

Though the sky was a beautiful rosy pink over
the mountains to the west and north of us.

As we turned west towards Parker the sun was touching
the tops of the mountains.

Then there it was through the dirty window
reflecting on the dirty mirror...🌞

Some twisting in my seat and slowing down by Tom
and I got this shot of the sun coming up.

The rest of our day was relaxing. Well at least it was after the groceries were put away. I never enjoy that chore. Later we joined Patsy and Bill in the sun between our rigs for a smaller Happy Hour but one still filled with talk and laughter. At one point we had to make a move farther back in the site because of a delivery across the way and the truck needed some space to get in. Though actually it put us in the sun longer so that was a good move.

Patsy, Bill, and Tom.

Our time here at Park Place RV has been enjoyably but it is quickly slipping away. Though time itself seems to pick up more speed as the years go by.

Another day of putting up the blinds and looking out at blue sky and sunshine. Then coffee and enjoying the start of our day, two things we never get tired of or take for granted.

After lunch I headed over to the clubhouse to join several ladies to play Pokeno or maybe I should just say I took a walk to give away my pennies...lol It is a good thing it is such a fun couple of hours otherwise it would be just sad to see the pennies disappear. Of course there is always next week and the hope of recouping my losses...lol

After I got back home, and received no sympathy from my husband about my losses, I sat for a while then I decided to take a little walk. I wanted to check out what kind of sunset picture I could get around the corner.

This is it.
The sun will soon slip behind the Dome Rock Mountains.

When I got back Tom and I decided to sit out for a bit. It was a nice evening for it.

We had this visitor come by a couple of times while we sat
enjoying the quiet that comes with the soft evening light as the
sun leaves our sky. Amazingly this park has a quite about it.

It was a good day.

A Look Back at our family and life when I was not blogging.

I believe I mentioned when I returned to blog land there would be times I would insert pictures here and there along the way from the past. I should add there will probably be some words to go along with the pictures. I have to admit there are a lot of pictures and though I will not be using them all sorting and where to start seems overwhelming. Today's was easy. Since, I never introduced the newest member of our family on here and he turned one this last October it seemed like about time and a good place to begin.

Daniel Patrick Duchaine
Born on October 14, 2024 to Nadine and Thomas Y. Duchaine
He started life at 8lbs 1oz and 21 inches long.

A very happy mom with her two midwives.
An experienced mom and her daughter who is training.

Two happy grandparents.
I was there to see him come into the world.
Tom met him the next day.

What is it about sleeping babies that always
makes them look even more precious.

He is well loved and held a lot...lol
Mom and Dad and his siblings. He is the youngest of five.

His aunt and cousins.

For the most part he is a happy baby.

Of course, there are moments.

A boy and his dog.
Captain is a very patient dog.

We may be slightly prejudice but we think he is perfect.

With mom

and the gang at his first parade.
I have a feeling his oldest brother, who is in marching band,
was in this parade. I cannot find a picture.

Heading home.

I will end here with "A Look Back" for today.  More to come...😉
