A slow start to the New Year for Tom and I as we actually slept in past the sunrise this morning. When we opened the shades the sky was cloud covered with some blue sky along the edges. A little after one this afternoon the sky was blue but the wind had picked up considerably.
Tom and I headed into Yuma for Mass at around 3:30 in the wind. Turning south on Ogilby Road it was not to bad until we crossed the railroad tracks. The picture collage below gives you an idea of how strong the wind was.
Driving down Ogilby Road this afternoon. |

Merging on to I-8 and there was a lot of sand and dust in the air. We were pretty close to Pilot Knob before we could see an outline of it through the dust. |
We ended the day by going out to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse in Yuma where we both enjoyed a good meal.
So begins another year of living Our Retirement Dream!
We are glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.
Yikes .. that was a good dust storm!!! Doug did say he was rocking and rolling.
ReplyDeleteWe were parked at a better angle for this wind so it was pretty much blowing down the sides of the Stinger "B".
DeleteHappy 2023. We lucked out and didn't get the winds but got a whole lot of rain. That dust out there was terrible. Hoping today is better and that the year is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteBy evening the wind had slowed down by quite a bit.
DeleteOh my, glad we didn’t venture out. We were rocking enough we brought the slides in for about an hour.
ReplyDeleteDeb
We lucked out with our angle it was hitting the back and blowing down the sides.
DeleteOh my goodness, so much dust! Hope it will get better quickly for you to enjoy the outdoors again.
ReplyDeleteWe did have dust but by evening the wind had calmed down considerably and in the morning it was done.
DeleteI love the view from the church yard.
ReplyDeleteI do too,
DeleteHappy New Year. Hope the wind lets up.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! It did.
