HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
Today started out slow and easy. Sitting out enjoying our morning coffee and the view in front of us.
This morning's sunrise. I edited the tone by clicking on auto adjust and decided to share the results. |
As I sat there this morning looking at the beautiful view below, (waiting for my coffee mug to arrive...Tom makes our morning coffee and it is such a treat to have it handed to me all warm and creamy,) I could not help but reflect on how blessed Tom and I are to be living our retirement dream.
After lunch we took a quick ride into Quartzsite to pick up a few groceries. After we got back we decided to take a ride out into the Day Use area just past where we are parked. We thought it would be nice to just do a little exploring and agreed if we came to any steep washes or hills we would just turn around. We found a road that brought us somewhat close to the mountains and we just had a nice relaxing ride no steep washes, no large boulders, no hills to conquer just beautiful scenery.
Little tiny white flowers covered the desert floor and the yellow wild flowers go all the way up to the top. |
Looking down a wash we crossed. |
All the little wild flowers covering the desert floor are so pretty. We spotted our first flowering cactus this afternoon. (center picture) |
Another beautiful sunset bringing darkness to the end of a wonderful day enjoying this time in our life. |
"May the Leprechauns be near you,
to spread luck along your way,
and may all the Irish Angels,
smile upon you this St. Patrick's Day."
~Irish Blessing
Happy St. Patricks day , looks like you had a very enjoyable one.
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice quiet type of day and we did enjoy it.
DeleteGlad you're back. Looks like you had a nice relaxing St. Pat's Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, and it was a relaxing day.
DeleteBeautiful pictures, love the first one. I like playing with the options I have on my laptop too. Funny you said about reflecting on your blessings. I am not a religious person, I do believe though. This morning on my walk, I realized it will be one of my last days here in the southwest to do this. So I had a lovely chat with the powers that be, namely God, and thanked him for our blessings as well. This has truly been an amazing 'first' journey of many.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I had typed in the word lucky and then I changed it to blessed because that is really how I feel. It has been a wonderful year meeting and making new friends. Plus, we have had the opportunity to get together with old friends. We have visited new places and revisited places we love. I know this last month or so will fly by but God willing come September we will be pointing the Stinger B South and West and we will do it all again.
