I did get up and take a short walk around our area, cannot just sit there all day. (Actually, I am not good at sitting for very long at a time which is why I will never have that perfect tan.) Checking out the small "tough" little plants that make their way out through the desert floor.
Looking up over the Stinger B as clouds covered the sun.
Our daughter called, towards the end of the day, and while we were talking I stepped out to take the above picture. Then she put our granddaughter on the phone so we could say goodnight; while I was talking with her I sat down and looked out at the view below. After we hung up I couldn't help but think about how lucky I was in this moment to be in such a beautiful place talking to two people I love.

A very slow and easy day, well at least for me, Tom went into Quartzsite this morning with two loads of wash. I really dislike going to the laundromat, which is why we have a washer/dryer in the motor home and why there was one in the 5th wheel, but after a couple of weeks of dry camping it was inevitable. Tom said he would go and I was not about to argue.

Just before 4 o'clock we drove into Quartzsite to attend mass at Our Lady of Queen of Peace mission. After mass we stopped at the Mountain Quail Cafe for a quick dinner then headed back to Stinger B.
The sun had already disappeared behind the mountains by the time we got back but there was still some color and light left.

Gotta love those relaxing days enjoying the local scenery. Like you I cannot sit for very long, read for a bit, putter around, go for a walkabout, read some more. We did not want a washer dryer. I don't mind going to the laundry mat , have been doing that for 11 years now.

Relaxing days are the best. We have only been to the Mountain Quail Cafe a couple of times, we just do not eat our that much, but we have always had a good meal and service.
DeleteI know I am in the minority about the washer/dryer but I do love having it.
Always nice enjoying some down time just relaxing.

It's about time.
We did enjoy the two days of relaxing and now we are enjoying a third listening to the wind. The wind is making a statement here but I do not think as much as where you are at.
DeleteThe Mountain Quail is a couple of blocks off of Main Street on the west side.
A lot of people would agree with you about going the laundromat...but I do love having one in the motor home.
Relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the desert and fluffy clouds in the sky is a great way to spend some time. I hope that I never get tired of seeing desert.
ReplyDeleteNot having a washer/dryer in our unit was an easy decision and after one year haven't changed our mind. The space for storage is more valuable to us and we only do laundry 1 time over 2 weeks and don't mind that laundromat experience. Doing it while boondocking would not be easy, for sure. Love your cloud/sky pictures and that almost looks like what I know as an African Violet but with white flowers! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you, OMG, you are right it does look like a miniature African Violet. I just love all the tiny flowers. I keep thinking they must be tough little guys to make there way out through the rocks.
