Time and Clouds are Gliding By

Friday, May 8, 2020

For about three hours today while doing other things I took some pictures of the clouds gliding by to the west of us. It was a quiet day here after listening to rain on and off through the evening and into the morning. At around 6:30 the thunder made it self known and woke us both up. It was a dreary start to the day but as the day continued the blue sky won before the sun left for the day. There was a wind advisory for today but luckily, though there was a good breeze, the 40 mph wind gusts never arrived. Above the clouds moved quickly once they started to break up. There is not a lot more I can say about where we are that I have not said before so today is about the clouds.

We sat out for a while later in the afternoon under sunny blue skies. today.  The sky was such a beautiful blue and the green of the trees against it is a lovely contrast. Our scenery really does not change much but it is still pleasant to sit out and just relax.

The Governor of Michigan extended the stay at home order Thursday for two more weeks. So we have decided to extend our stay here another two weeks which will bring us the 27th. It is what it is and who knows we have read private campgrounds in Michigan are looking to open on the 15th and maybe they will. We just do not want to get close to the UP and then find out they have been shut down. So we will continue to enjoy our time here. We are safe and healthy and are grateful that are children and grandchildren are, also. We are happy that we can say our extended family  along with our friends are also safe and healthy. With so many families losing loved ones it is hard to not be very grateful for this knowledge. Staying here for this time is not a hardship, yes, it does get frustrating at times and boring but in the scheme of things nothing to complain about.

We hope anyone reading this is safe and healthy and they can say the same about their family and friends.  Take care and stay healthy.

We are glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

  1. I will enjoy all the cloud pictures you want to post. When it gets hot here in AZ we dont see many clouds and I miss them. We don't plan on leaving here til the middle of June so I'm hoping places are open. But if not we can always boondock for a night or two. Happy Mother's Day.

    1. I do not remember a time when I did not enjoy being outside watching the clouds go by. There may be more pictures of their white fluffiness in the next couple of weeks. Hope things start opening before your trip to the north. Take care.

  7. The clouds against a blue sky are gorgeous, just don't cover the sun! :) At least not until the temperatures warm up. I'm happy you are where you are at least, so you aren't experiencing the snow. :) Stay well!

    1. I agree about the clouds not covering the sun especially on the cooler days. For sure we are not unhappy that we missed out on snow in May. One of those experiences we can do without. Take care and stay well, also.
