Still Hanging Out In Corinth, Mississippi

Friday, May 22, 2020

I honestly cannot believe how quickly time has passed. Does not mean we are not missing those hugs from kids and grandkids because we are. I just honestly thought time would drag unbelievably slow especially since we are mostly spending time close to home. We have had an issue yet again with the shifter in the Jeep which was fixed on Thursday and now we hope to take a couple of rides before we leave. Speaking of leaving the sincere hope is that we have spent enough money on our vehicles in Mississippi and next Thursday when we start up the engine, hook up the Jeep we get across the state border with no issues. (Yes, Tom has run the engine and the generator several times while we have been parked here.)

The following are just random pictures I have been taking since last time I posted a blog.

We have had a lot of rain here, Which is why I am sure
everything is so green. This was the first rainbow I spotted
and by the time I grabbed the camera and got out the door
it was already starting to fade.

Mother;s Day came and went since the last time I posted a
blog. The Face Masks came in the mail from Rachel. Tom's
Father's Day gift arrived early. If you are not sure what it is
that is an outline of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Tom picked wildflowers for the table.

I had a very nice Mother's Day and video chatted with all of our kids and grandkids. I hope all the Moms had a wonderful day, also.

I do think these are the last of the dandelions I will see here.
Though we are heading north so they may still be around
up there. The lower right is another tiny yellow flower
growing next to were we are parked.

Our daughter called so we could watch Charlotte make
wishes. Yes, they all know I love dandelions.

The clouds continue to float by and they are beautiful.

We have a Magnolia Tree across from us
just starting to blossom.

Looks like a string of green hearts.

You have to give this little guy credit for making it up
through the gravel.

The last little circle of sunlight peeking through.

Some of the clouds took on a rosy pink as the sun set

Thursday evening.

The last of the sun light
Late this afternoon storm clouds quickly gathered.

The rain came down and just as quickly they started to leave.

Then the sky was again blue in the west as the sunset behind us.

Then for the second evening in a row we had pink clouds
as the sun light left our day.

We now are hoping that everything goes as planned and we leave here next Thursday. I have said it before but it is worth repeating. We feel very lucky to have found this place to stay these last couple of months and we look forward to coming back when things are open. For now we are ready to go home and that is what the Upper Peninsula of Michigan will always be for us, home. We may be legal citizens of another state but that is just paper work. Michigan is slowly opening and a few private campgrounds are taking in RV's that are totally self contained. We have found one and made reservations so we are going to stay optimistic that the Governor does not reverse things as we head north. If something changes, well then we will just figure it out but it is time to move on.

We continue to be grateful that our family is healthy and doing well. Plus, we are thankful to be able to say we are both healthy. We hope you can say the same. Stay Safe.

We are so glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

  1. Happy to hear everyone is doing good. We are trying to remember all the things we need to do about heading out since we have been sitting so long. Hopefully your journey north goes smoothly.

    1. Hoping the same thing for you both as you head north for fishing and cooler temperatures, smooth journey. I know, sort of since we have only been sitting for two months, what you mean about have we done everything we need to do before we roll the wheels. It is amazing how easily we fell into an entirely different routine. This when I am glad one of our routines is to go through a check list.

    1. Thank you, Bill. I think Tom and I will breath a collective sigh of relief when we cross the border out of Mississippi...:) I know there is always a reason for the why things happen but less expensive would have worked just as well.

  3. Yay! A deadline to head to your 'home' state. Good luck with everything and no jinxes or Jell-o. :)
Glad you had a sweet Mother's Day. Love the dandelion fluff picture from your granddaughter. Stay well!

    1. Like I mentioned to Bill there will be a sigh of relief when we cross out of Mississippi. Not to say we have not been grateful to be here and feel safe but it will feel good to head north. Fingers crossed no more "jello"...:) Stay well, also.

    1. Hope you and Kathy are doing well, also. It will be extremely nice when I can write we have hugged all our grandchildren. That will not happen for a bit but we will see half of them in a couple of weeks.

    1. I believe we will be in good hands, also. We both believe things happen for a reason...doors close or you take a wrong turn and end up in a wonderful place etc...we have experienced it before. The hope now is that we are meant to move our home, home.

    1. I really love the green hearts, also. I could barely see them and did not want to walk through the grass under the trees to get to them as the owner warned us about the ticks but when I put my zoom on there they were. I loved watching her make the wishes. I would love to get all the grandchildren doing the same thing and put together a collage. Hugs back to you and Ken!!!

  7. I also think dandelions are pretty. I am sending prayers your way that you make it home to Michigan and that all your vehicles make it with no problems.
