We Moved One Exit West

Thursday, January, 2, 2020

Today was moving day and since it was going to be a short drive we took our time getting ready this morning.  We were just about set to take off when Kim walked across the street to wish us safe travels and while we were standing there talking Patsy and Ken walked down from where they were playing Bocce Ball for a quick see you later and a hug. We could see Bill waving in the distance. We are planning on seeing them all along with JoAnne and Bob again in a few weeks at Quartzsite. It was just about 11 o'clock when we pulled out of Pilot Knob. A little over 10 miles later and around 30 minutes we were parking in our new neighborhood,  Looking past the Stinger "B" we can see the home of two lovely ladies, Deb and her daughter Riley. This is definitely a great neighborhood.

(Side note: This is what would be called a fair warning. There are Ocotillos all over the place where we are and all are filled with little green leaves. They are absolutely my favorite desert plant. There will be pictures of Ocotillos on every post while we are parked out here.)

Looking out our front window
we can see the Igloo and Dogsled.

These two beautiful green Ocotillos are close by.

There was quite a bit of wind here when we pulled in, in fact we only had the living room slide out for a very short time, so we spent a few hours inside playing cards. A little after 3 o'clock we decided to brave the wind and let it blow us over to Deb and Riley's for a short visit. We sat and chatted inside their lovely home about this and that thoroughly enjoying our time. Before we knew it the sun was sinking  in the west and the wind had died down. Really time to head home.

The last of tonight's afterglow.

I could not resist and with my flash on I was able to get
a picture of the Ocotillo out our door in the last of the color.

It was a mixed day. Always a little sad to leave a place we have enjoyed. It was fun being with the group of friends at Pilot Knob RV and we really liked the park. We can see ourselves spending more time there in the future. At the same time we are happy to be back out in the desert boondocking and being parked near Deb and Riley is a wonderful bonus.

We are glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

  1. I'll look forward to the pics of the Ocotillos for sure! They are actually my favorite desert plant too! How nice to be parked close but not too close to Deb and Riley! The desert is a huge place. Beautiful sunset pics! Enjoy your drive! Hugs!

    1. Jerry took us on a great ride. The scenery was beautiful and the great part is he is able to tell us what we are looking at versus Tom and I guessing...lol

  2. Those short moves are the best. It’s hard to get used to RV Park living when you can boondock. Plus the price is right.

    1. You will never here us complain about full hookups but we do prefer boondocking out in the desert. Plus, like you said the price is right...☺

  3. This will be a great test of your new Solar Panels that will make being "Off the Grid" more enjoyable.
    Be Safe!

    It's about time.

    1. Thank you, I knew you would like the Ocotillo pictures. Fingers crossed when we get back to Quartzsite that some of them have their leaves.

  7. Best kind of move. Short and easy. I'll have to try using my flash at night. I know you can get some pretty neat effects doing that.
