Christmas Day 2024

Monday, December 25, 2023

The sun came up into a bright clear sky this morning as we began a day celebrating the birth of the child that changed our world.

Tom and I started the day with Mass at a beautiful small Catholic Mission Church, St. Thomas Yuma Indian Mission in Winterhaven, California. Of all the churches we attend when we are in the Southwest this is one of my favorites.

They had three Nativity's set up and a lovely tree.
Upper left was to the right of the altar.
Lower left was in the vestibule as we walked in.
Tree was to the left of the altar and a close up of the one in
front of the altar. All beautiful.

Left: St. Kateri Tekakwitha Right: Our Lady of Guadalupe

We came back home to celebrate the day with Kim, Ken, Deb, Riley, and Keith. John, John & Brenda's Incredible Journey, stopped by for a short visit. He and Brenda are parked just a short distance away it is always nice to see him and or Brenda. We started with mimosas, then enjoyed a lovely dinner in the afternoon. Ken cooked the turkey, who knew you could cook a turkey in one of those small ovens inside an RV but he did, and it was perfect. We all added sides and everything was delicious. Afterwards we spent time chatting moving our chairs to stay in the sun until the chill in the air sent us inside. It was a wonderful day spent with friends and I was enjoying the day so much I failed to take any pictures. The memories of the day, though. are firmly planted in our memory and will be there always.

We also spoke with our children and from what they said, they along with our Grandchildren enjoyed a special day.

I went out one last time as the sun went down.

December's Cold Full Moon is not until December 26th

The last of the sun's light as a wonderful day ended in
Our Neighborhood.

We are glad you stopped by! Tom and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with memory moments to be treasured forever. As this year comes to a close and we continue to celebrate this season of hope we wish you days filled with joy and peace. If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

To All Our Family and Friends
Merry Christmas!

  3. Sounds like a great day with dear friends. I would not have believed that you would even be able to put a turkey in those ovens let alone cook it and have it turn out. Great job!

    1. It was a great day.
I was surprised, also, that it was possible to have a turkey cook and turn out quite good in an RV oven but it did. Ken did a good job.
