Merry Christmas Eve...The Sun Came Back

Saturday, December 23, 2023

After a day and night of rain we woke up to blue skies and sunshine Saturday morning. There was fog covering the Cargo Muchacho Mountains but that only added to the beauty of the day. After all the rain the floor of the desert was still wet today and we could feel the dampness in the air. The puddles were gone and the water was gone from washes.

Below are pictures I took in the morning and evening.

This wash is behind u and yesterday there was
a small "river" flowing by.

This morning we could see were the water
had flowed by on Friday.

Not long after I took the above pictures I went back outside and took the ones below. The fog was slowly lifting and would soon be gone.

A Side Note for my own information:  The above pictures I took with my Phone and the pictures below with my Nikon. The last three pictures I took in the evening with my phone.

The little white dot is the moon rising over the
Cargo Muchacho Mountains.

The sun setting on our day.

One last picture of , a little white dot,
the Moon Rising over the
Cargo Muchacho Mountains.

It was a good day in the neighborhood and our numbers increased today as Keith and Oreo, from Ontario, joined us. Keith is a friend of Kim and Ken's and we first met him back in January of 2020 when he joined us when we were parked with the gang from Ontario at La Posa South. Looking forward to spending this time with him and getting to know him a little better. There will be pictures at some point.

Tom is feeling better and everyone else seems to be doing better everyday. Life is good in the desert parked just off of Ogilby Road.

We are glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

  1. It is easy to take the sun for granted down there, so it is nice to have a rainy day now and then to remind you how special it really is.

    1. That is true we do just expect the sun to just show up everyday. Of course, now I expect the rain to have done its job and the Ocotillos get their pretty littlie green leaves...:)
