Today we decided to go back and take one more walk through The Big Tent and then visit a few vendors in the Tyson Wells Area. Nothing in particular that we needed just thought it would be a fun way to spend the morning and get some walking in. Plus, Tom still was hoping to enjoy a funnel cake, which he did. Though there was nothing we really needed I did find a few strands of beads to add to my collection.

The sun was up and shining when we pulled away this morning. |
|
Fairly short line waiting to dump this morning.
We both liked the Wanderlodge at the front of the line. |
|
This sign should be coming down soon, At least for a while. |
|
The Big Tent. |
|
Lunch at Barbi's Place.
We have seen this place the last few years and today after picking up a few
things at the Coyote Fresh Food Market decided to give it a try.
The food was good, in our opinion, and the owner very friendly.
We also enjoyed a chat with three people from Montana while we all
waited for our food. |
|
The mountains to the west of 95 on our way home. |
|
Quite a bit of traffic going north as we approached the turn into
La Posa South. |
|
Tonight's sunset. I am really liking how using the zoom lens brings it out. |
|
The last of the sunlight on the mountains around us. |
|
Then the sun dropped behind the mountains.
Ending our day light in this calm and peaceful place. |

Today started slowly, for us, just sitting and enjoying our morning coffee. We were up before the sun but a phone call from my sister kept me occupied enjoying a nice chat until it was shining brightly.
No big plans today. We did run into the post office to pick up some mail we were expecting and I checked out the bead stores and picked up a couple of things I needed to try something new when making a bracelet. No beads were purchased today. Picked up a couple of groceries and then back home.
Happy Hour today and the weather cooperated and we were back in the middle. A nice surprise Kathy and Rick,
It's about time, stopped by. Always fun to visit with them and glad they decided to join us.
|
Tom took today's picture and even though his chair is empty he managed to
join the circle. "Tom" then from left to right: Rick, Kathy, Deb, Tom's chair,
Bill, Patsy, Suzie, George, Rob (hiding behind Pat), Pat, Ken, and Kim |
|
No real explanation I just liked the way they looked. |
|
As the day ends it seems like the sun picks up speed as it
quietly slips behind the mountains. |
|
We decided to do a shadow selfie. |
|
I never get tired of watching the shadows on the mountains
as the sun light leaves at the end of the day. |
|
I feel like I am watching the shadows dance in and out of the crevices. |
|
Just about gone. |
|
Then the last little bit of light on the mountain and it was gone. |
|
One more picture of the mountains towards the east. |
Then just after dusk we listened to a serenade drifting over from the "Bluebirds" parked just a little to the north of us. An enjoyable little treat to the ears at the end of the day.
Two good days enjoying life.
Hope you can say the same.
We are glad you stopped by.
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.
A very relaxing couple of days. I like those kinds of days.
ReplyDeleteHappy hour looks fun, very busy though I expect.
Like you I enjoy the sun dancing along the mountains, castings it's shadows and playing with the crevices. I always enjoy the show!!!
The sun, the mountains, the desert floor all come together to present the best show. I always enjoy your pictures of that show.
DeleteYou and Riley need to take a ride over and join the circle we would love to see you both and I know everyone else would agree. Between the Canadian Flag flying and the colors of our rig we are pretty easy to find...lol
Glad we were able to join the fun on Friday but that breeze has got to go. Maybe in February LOL it still is winter.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
We would agree the breeze needs to go but it is still a fun couple of hours. Glad you both joined us.
DeleteSounds like a great way to spend your time and the pictures of the desert are beautiful!
