Mostly the Moon

Sunday, January 20, 2019

I know, I know a day late, well two, and a penny short as the saying goes but I had the pictures and this is about our memories that we share so this is the post.

So I was not going to go out and take any pictures this time; I was so cold last year taking the pictures I never thought I would get warm again. Then I decided after reading there would not be another one like this until 2021 I would just snap a couple of pictures. Then I sort of got hooked though I kept coming back in between shots and, of course, it was not as cold this year. The first two pictures are with my shorter lens then I thought put your zoom on you can bring it slightly closer. Some moments are just like that.

This was it for me, "Goodnight Moon".

The moon was very pretty hanging in the western sky this morning before the sun came up.

7:15AM

The mountains to the east before sunrise this morning.

We mostly spent today inside. Even though the sun was shining and the sky was a lovely blue. There was a good wind blowing and I could see the dust in the distance. Plus, it felt a little chilly out there.
Tom did run into Quartzsite to run an errand and put gas in the Jeep.

As I mentioned above it was pretty windy and Patsy stopped by around 3 o'clock and mentioned that because of the wind maybe we should skip Happy Hour today. Tom had been checking on some RV Parks in the area online as a possibility to stay at the end of February and since Happy Hour was cancelled we decided to take a ride and check them out. Just as we were getting ready to walk out the door a message came from Patsy that Happy Hour was back on so we scrapped the ride and joined everyone else on Patsy and Bill's patio which was somewhat out of the wind.

While we were sitting there Patsy's hummingbird feeder had a visitor.

Tonight's sunset.

Then after dinner I walked out and  saw the moon  over the mountains
to the east of us and managed to get this picture.

From a speech he gave at a Spelman college rally in Sisters Chapel.
He did not want people to think about impossibilities: rather,
he inspired them to focus on possibilities.

  3. I have to agree with Deb, (On an long and lonesome highway). Love your blog! I read the ones I want and feel like close friends with those I do and then when you meet the people you feel exactly the same way :) Great pictures!

    1. Thank you, Shirley.
It is amazing how after reading a blog you enjoy when you meet in person it is like sitting down with a close friend.

  4. In one of my classes the other day, I learned all about hummingbirds and how they can die if they don't continually eat... sad sad life they lead.

But nice to look at :)

    1. They are so pretty and tiny but they are actually very mean birds.
