Our Last Days Parked in La Posa South (Catch up Post)

We are presently parked at Imperial Dam LTVA (Senators Wash) and have not had good enough service to post or read Blogs. Tonight thanks to Shirley and Ken, Seeing America with Ken and Shirley letting us use there MiFi I am able to do some catching up. We will be moving tomorrow and hope to have better service then. So below is what will probably be one of four catch up posts that I include so we remember what we did on these days.

Wednesday and Thursday, February 6th and 7th 2019

Wednesday like most of our days started slowly in our home on wheels. Tom made coffee and we sat  enjoying the peace that comes from being happy with the way things are.

We went out to lunch with Shirley, Ken, Suzie and George and as always the conversation with this group is never dull and the pizza very good.

The only picture I took Wednesday was the group at Silly Al's for lunch.
Left to right: Tom, my chair, George, Suzie, Ken, and Shirley

Later we shared our Happy Hour inside the Stinger "B". Between the wind and chill in the air being inside was the best choice and we are glad we have the space to invite everyone in.

Thursday dawned with a chill in the air but the wind had died down and the sky was a blue, blue with not a cloud to be seen.
I sorted laundry and Tom road in to do the wash. The other two couples left with their rigs to get work done at RV Lifestyles and I did some cleaning here at home. Soon everyone was pulling back in to enjoy our last day here.

As I walked out to take a picture of the Ocotillo Ken asked if I was going to
take my daily picture of the Ocotillo and joined me for the walk over.
The conversation may be forgotten with the passage of time but the moment
I will remember every time I look at this picture..

The blue skies and mountains around us always beautiful.

As I was standing taking pictures of the mountains and the blue skies I
spotted Tom and Ken talking about something they were both looking at.
I have no idea what they were talking about or looking at;
I just liked the picture of the two of them together.

More mountains

and more blue skies.

Not long after I took this picture we gathered for our last Happy Hour, Shirley, Ken, Suzie, George, Tom and I, in this place this year. The weather cooperated and we were able to sit outside in the sun enjoying its warmth for this last one. (I took no pictures and I wish I had but caught up in the moment the thought of taking a picture escaped me.) As always the conversation was lively, the stories interesting and the laughter contagious. Ken asked George about his carvings and he shared some of them with us. Very nice work, lots of patience and talent to do the carvings he does. Then as the sun slowly set the air began to chill and Suzie and George said their good nights. Not long after Ken was taking his chair and heading home. Shortly after Shirley followed and Tom and I came in it was cold and time to be inside.

It is hard to see but the green on the desert floor

was sparkling in the setting sun.

The shadow add to the beauty.

The last of the sunlight

lights up the mountains

all around us,

always beautiful.!

The last little bit of sun light on our last day here at La Posa South.

We have had some wonderful days in this place.
Tomorrow we will move on and take the memories with us.
Thank you for stopping in and if you have time to leave a comment we will enjoy hearing from you.

  1. We all have a wonderful time there this year, and moving on down the road again.
We found our cell phone and wifi did not work there but worked very good at Quail hill.

    1. We definitely enjoyed our time at LaPosa South this year, also.
We had fairly decent cell and texting services where we were parked but data/wifi was completely unreliable. Checking at Quail Hill it was the same.

    1. Thank you, Patsy.
It is wonderful that we are getting to spend this time with Shirley and Ken. Running into Kim and Ken again is a nice bonus.
The windshield is repaired and now we hope it lasts, no guarantees. As I think we all say, it is what it is and we move on.
