We got the Jeep back around noon yesterday. They said it was working but I promptly went out to check it out for myself.
Side note: Riverside in Escanaba really did everything they could to get us on the road as soon as possible. From the minute I called and the Service Manager said bring it over we will get it right in until we picked it up they were nothing but helpful.
Finally back in the driveway. |
The light is staying on. |
We spent the rest of Thursday packing and putting back everything into the Stinger "B' that we had brought in the house the past 10 days as we needed it. When I mentioned the house was empty last week I mean it was empty. No utensils, not salt and pepper, the fridge was empty, no soap, no pots and pans, etc... etc... I think you get the idea.
We were up at 4:30AM this morning taking care of the last minute things and at 6:05AM Tom backed the Stinger "B" out of the driveway.
I took this picture last week just before we left. |
Tom has driven off in the Stinger "B" and I have stopped at the end of the driveway remembering. I can see my Anniversary Rose in the window. |
It just seemed fitting somehow to leave it here. |
One last picture before I drive over to St. Anne's parking lot where Tom is waiting to hook up the Jeep. |
I have done my part and now Tom finishes the hook up. |
Our daughter and granddaughter came to say goodbye and are now helping check the lights. |
Every thing is a go and we pulled out of Escanaba this morning at 6:45AM. |
Traveling south through Wisconsin |
We are in Illinois. Going over the Illinois River.. Thought you might like this water tower, Patsy. |
It was a long first day but we are now parked at the Princess Wenona RV Oasis. It is cold out the AccuWeather on my phone says 34 degrees as I write this; factor in the wind and the real feel is 21 degrees. But we have electricity so the furnace is running along with our electric heaters. Inside we will be warm and cozy our first night on the road for our 5th Adventure.
" Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,
it's about learning to
DANCE IN THE RAIN."
~Vivian Greene
Today's quote is one of my favorites.
It was a cold dreary day as we made our way south today but we had a good day.
We hope you did, also.
We are glad you stopped by and if you would like to leave a comment we would enjoy reading it.
Wow, congrats on making it out of town.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad to leave a home behind, it's not just a house but you take the memories with you. The love, the companionship, the wonders and joys, we even take the sad times with us, as they too are part of our memories.
A new chapter begins and I'm sure you will be happy making new memories in a different home. I think leaving the rose was a wonderful idea.
How wonderful of daughter and granddaughter to come see you off.
Safe travels!!
Thank you. You are so right we take all the memories with us. It is just a house the home walked out the door with us. It seemed to take forever to empty it and we are so glad to move on. I just never thought about what it would feel like to pull the door shut.
DeleteWoo Hoo!! Glad you are off on your adventure. Safe Travels and I hope you find warmth soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We are getting closer.
DeleteGlad you are finally headed to warmer climates.
ReplyDeleteSafe Travels and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Thank you. We are certainly happy to be heading to a warmer climate.
DeleteFinally it is all coming together, a new chapter in your lives is just beginning for a fun adventurous lifestyle, making more wonderful memories. Travel safe enjoy the journey and keep warm
ReplyDeleteYes it is finally coming together. I not sure we quite believe it yet but we are excited to move on to this new chapter.
DeleteWell Deb, you had me tearing up this am from your first kiss, to your anniversary rose, all those memories! Then the topper that your granddaughter and Rachel came to say goodbye..uhhh...what a cute house! I'm sure it will sell quickly :) Now off to a new part of your lives..congratulations! Looking forward to following along for sure. :))
ReplyDeleteI had moved the rose there a couple of days before and when it came time to leave I just knew I had to leave it. I took the picture of the backdoor and wondered if he would remember and he did.
DeleteI hope you are right about it selling quickly but regardless I feel like we have moved on. We may park there and plug in but we will not be moving back in. Tom is really hoping he does not have to bring the lawn mower back from storage to do the grass...lol
Yay!!! Congratulations!! New adventures await. I hope to see you down the road.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nancy. We are hoping to see you down the road, also.
DeleteIt is great to see that you got away and had a safe first day on the road. Describing leaving your house, reminds me of leaving ours for the last time, almost 4 years ago. Continue safe travels and we will see you down the road.
ReplyDeleteThank you, it does feel good to be moving down the road. Looking forward to seeing you in January.
DeleteI'm so excited for you! I'm sure it is bittersweet leaving that sweet house but the memories will stay with you. Love that Tom remembered the first kiss. Aaah. He's a keeper. :)
ReplyDeleteYou will be warm soon enough and the weather will be in your favour, because my toes are still crossed.
Thank you, I do LOVE the water tower. Safe travels until we see you!
Thank you. It was bittersweet, we were so anxious to get it empty and on the market but like I wrote to Deb I never thought about what it would feel like to pull the door shut. Yes, lots of memories that will be with us forever. I was wondering if he would remember and now that he did I guess I will have to keep him...lol
DeleteWhen I saw the water tower and the heart my first thought was Patsy would like that. Glad I was right and got the picture.
Seems like yesterday!!!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte is very excited to see you in May!
We are excited to see her, also.
