Day 2 of 2: Continuing South and West

October 17, 2019

We have taken today off, sort of. Tom spent a large part of the afternoon washing some of the dirt off of the Stinger "B". I did wash and went through yesterday's pictures. Plus, for some reason, and we are not questioning it, the refrigerator decided to get cold. So after almost 24 hours and it was still cold I went through both coolers, got rid of what was no good, and put the rest away. There is not much in there but fingers crossed it holds the cold. Regardless, we have decided to have it checked out at some point when we are settled someplace for at least a week. In the meantime if it goes again we have the coolers. To much to see and do in the next couple of weeks to worry about it.

October 16, 2019 (Craig, Colorado to Grand Junction, Colorado)

There are a lot of pictures because I just could not eliminate any more and I tried.

Leaving Craig, CO

Looking out at the road ahead.

Evidently no one told the wildlife this is their zone.
We did not see any wildlife along the way.

The views as we traveled

down Colorado 13

were beautiful.

At this point we could  see some black smoke in the
distance. Though we never noticed it again.

Soft shoulder warning.
One thing we noticed on Wyoming 789 and then on
Colorado 13 they do provide places to pull over.

We are about to go downhill

continuing down

then we could see the end in the distance.

Driving through Meeker, CO.

A bit of a roller coaster ahead.

Then we saw this sign.

We lucked out. We were only stopped behind
this tanker for about ten minutes and then we
were on our way.

The little white dot on the bottom right is a vehicle on
the road ahead and it is downhill.

We are fairly close to I-70 at this point.

Rifle, CO is where we merged onto I-70.

Trying to capture some of the color we saw today.

We are on US-6 and then

merging onto I-70.

The views continue to be beautiful.

Driving along the Colorado River.

I had to take a picture of these trees. They were quite a ways
up and they were the only ones.
I would give them an A+ for determination  and beauty.

Through a short tunnel with no name on it.
I googled everything I can think of and could not
find out anything.

It was very short.

Coming out the other side we are still

riding along the Colorado River

then over.

Ahead of us

then driving by

it was amazing how some of the rocks were balancing up there.

No enhancement that was the color

of the sky.

Not to long after the sign for Grand Junction.
Our stop for three nights.

Today's last picture as we closed in on our final destination.

This morning we are headed north to the Dinosaur National Monument. Something tells me the next blog I publish will have several pictures. We are looking forward to this day. Hope you are too.

We had two wonderful travel days. Hope you had wonderful days, also.
So glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

  3. Nice pics of your drive. We haven't been to Grand Junction but it looks similar to what we see here in Thompson Springs, but way fewer trees.
Weird about the fridge. Maybe something loose? Hope it keeps the wine chilled!

    1. Thank you.
It looks like the problem is the pilot light. No wine right now but Tom's beer is staying chilled...:)
