It was a Beautiful Fall Day!

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

As I was sitting and sorting through pictures from yesterday I was looking at the trees in the bottom left of the picture below. The sun shining through the window was warm so I slipped on my sandals and went outside. It was not as warm outside but I decided to take a few pictures of the area around our site. When we made the reservations for this park we did so with mixed feelings as some of  the reviews were recent and very negative. In our opinion, for the most part, totally uncalled for. Yes, this is an older park and as such could use some fixing up here and there but it is clean, we have full hookups and everything works, and the site is pretty level. Tom checked out the bathrooms and they are clean, also.  So no complaints here.

We talked about taking a ride to see the area and in the end Tom took the car to be washed and vacuumed. Other then that it was just a normal day that we enjoyed.

Monday, October 21, 2019 (The Ride)

Yesterday we had planned on going over to either visit The Arches National Park or Canyonlands. In the end we did both, something we had not planned when we headed out in the morning. As we drove along I checked the webcam at the entrance to Arches and could see cars in line. Having read about Cheryl and Dave's, Our View From Here, experience getting into the park we decided to turn and head to Canyonlands National Park.

I-70 heading East.

At exit 182 we turned south onto US-191

The views ahead are beautiful.

We have now turned west onto UT-313

There was still 21 miles to go before we would reach

the park's entrance.

With these views out our windows

the time went by quickly.

The questions asked as we drive along is, what do you think

keeps those very large rocks up there?  No answer but like,

I am sure, everyone else we are glad they do stay put.

Every corner we take and every direction

we look the views are wonderful.

This is definitely what we thought

Utah would look like.

Not long after I took this picture we spotted

the sign for the entrance to the park.

With so many pictures I decided to post three separate blogs about our visits to the Canyonlands and Arches National Parks.  This was the start of our day. The next post will be our ride through Canyonlands and then the third on the Arches.

Today was one of those days that we will remember
as a quiet day spent enjoying this time in our lives.

We are glad you stopped by.
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

  1. Interesting you could do both parks in one day. Lots of rock formations and cliffs. I like that.

    1. We were surprised we managed it. One of things we did not do was hike in close to everything which is probably why.
