Celebrating 49 Years Together

December 13, 2018

Today we celebrate 49 years of marriage.
Decided to stop down by the lake for a selfie.
Yes, it was a little windy and cold.

Over the years we have done many different things to celebrate this date. On our 1st Anniversary we went to dinner out at the Dell's Supper Club we had a table by the windows and could look out at the deer they had out there.  Several couples we would go out to dinner with surprised us with a cake and gifts out at the Dells on our 25th Anniversary. Plus, for that Anniversary Tom planned a surprise trip to Las Vegas. We spent more than one Anniversary across the Bay in Sister Bay, WI at a Bed and Breakfast that had beautifully decorated Christmas Trees in all their rooms. The advantage of being married in the middle of December is that most places we would go to would be decorated for Christmas. Several years we spent our Anniversary at a Christmas Concert of some sort, grade school, band, or choral. More then once it was a Boy Scout event. For our 40th we were busy with last minute tasks for our Son and Daughter-in-laws wedding. This year we went to our Granddaughter's Christmas Program and waited to hear from the dealership about what is going on with our Jeep.

Charlotte ready for her
Christmas Concert.

The Jeep got its new part in yesterday and still was not fixed. Finally after the mechanic here spent several hours yesterday and this morning on the phone with Chrysler it was decide the wire harness needed to be replaced. The new one will be here tomorrow morning. Our hope now is that is the fix and we will be on the road Saturday morning. It is what it is and the dealership here has been doing their best to get us on our way.

In the meantime, I am now sitting in an empty house looking at walls and windows and finding more and more to clean and fix. I think Tom will be extremely glad to be on our way.  By the way that chair I am sitting on is the only one left in here because we were leaving it. Okay so there is one more chair, a metal folding one, and as I type this Tom is sitting on it enjoying a beer...lol

No pictures again. I still have not taken the time to figure out how to move them onto this computer.

One last moment to share, with everything going on, Tom came home with a red long stem rose in a vase this afternoon. In 49 years he has never missed an occasion.

It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads,
which sew people together through the years."

  3. Happy Anniversary you two! Tom is a sweetie! We can see the love when you two are together! Hopefully the Jeep is done and you can head out Saturday. I believe things happen for a reason, so there is a reason you weren't meant to leave when planned. Safe travels..

Hopefully the Jeep will be ready soon and you can head for warmer climes. I recall you said the next weather window was Saturday anyway. Cleaner is better. Hahaha. Keeps you busy and fixing keeps Tom busy. The time will pass quickly. Safe travels!!
