Spending Time with Old Friends and New Friends

Friday, January 18, 2019

Started my day finishing and posting Thursday's blog while enjoying my first cup of coffee. Tom makes the coffee and that makes it even better in my opinion. After posting the Blog I called my sister to catch up and enjoy my second cup with her.  Then our daughter called and we did a quick catch up. Since, we were expecting friends who were driving down from Kingman around 10 I got myself ready for the day. After getting ready Tom spent some time making phone calls to several RV Parks near friends in South Carolina we are planning on visiting the beginning of April. We are not having a lot of luck so far but thanks to George, of the couple George and Rose we just met, we now have another possible type of park to look into. More on that later.

All ready for the day and sitting outside I decided to take some more pictures of our backyard. It was very peaceful sitting out this morning.

Then I got up to walk around.

Not sure why but a favorite pastime for some of the people out here
is to encircle things with rocks.
(Truly not a criticism just an observation.)

Another picture of our group.

The Bluebirds have gathered.
I really like their marker.

Out to lunch, at Silly Al's, with some friends and friends of friends
a nice bunch to spend an afternoon with.
Right to left (just for fun): Jill and Rick, Tom, Tony and Jeannie,
Joni and Clint., and myself.

After lunch we headed over to the QIA Pow Wow Gems, Minerals, & Jewelry show.  Honestly, not a place Tom and I would usually end up at but Jill, Rick, Jeannie, and Tony had a friend with a booth and wanted to stop by and say hi.  It ended up being fun to browse the various booths. I never realized there would be so much jewelry at one of these events. I can see how people who do any kind of work with rocks and gems would really enjoy this place, get ideas, and just have an enjoyable day.  For us it was just a fun way to spend time with friends.

The two ladies with the flag over their heads
are with us. Joni and Jeannie, I know
they each made a couple of purchases..
(Can a girl ever have to much jewelry?)

The sun had just slipped behind the mountains when I took this picture.

A little pink in the eastern sky and the moon.

The clouds around us

turned a lovely pink

as the light from the sun left us.

Then with the last of the color disappearing  our day comes to an end.

We started today by getting up early in order to enjoy our coffee, have a little breakfast, then get ready to head over to the opening day of the Sports, Vacation & RV Show,  The Big Tent. We spent a couple of hours walking around and checking things out. I am guessing we will stop by one or two more times. Tom did not get his funnel cake today and I saw a style of sun hat I have been wanting so those are two good reasons to return.

After returning home Tom went to get water to refill our fresh water tank and then we gathered in the middle of our area and enjoyed another Happy Hour. Fellow Yoopers, Jeannie and Tony, stopped by for a brief visit. They are only parked a couple of washes away and we hope they make it back this way again it was nice seeing them.

The next two pictures I "stole" from George, Our Awesome Travels, because he remembered to take them.

Left to right starting with the empty chair which belongs to George.
Suzie, Bill, Patsy, Pat, Ron, Tom, Me, Jeannie and Tony.

We have some new people in the neighborhood, Kim and Ken.
Like the rest of the group we are with they are from Ontario.

Their rig.

The sun has set on our day her in the desert.

The last of the light on the mountains to
the east of us and the moon.

So ends the second of two days we have enjoyed parked here at LaPosa South near Quartzsite, AZ.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Thanks for stopping by and if you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

Good Night!

I see that I've spelt Jeannie's name wrong so need to be sure in the future that it is not Jean. :)
