Strictly a Catch Up Post, Chris's Visit (Sunday Visit to Tombstone)

(Clicking on the pictures should open them up larger.)

Today Chris and I went shopping. That is all we planned and it was all we did. Tom's plan was to relax and he accomplished just that.

Sunday, February 23, 2020

Today's plan: Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Breakfast at the Longhorn Restaurant, re-visit a couple of the shops on Allen Street, take the Bird Cage Theater Tour, and visit Boothill Graveyard.

When we are in this area Tom and I usually go to Mass here
at least once. It is a beautiful historic church built in 1881.

We then drove over and parked near Allen Street and walked

over to the Longhorn Restaurant for
breakfast/lunch.

After re-visiting a couple of the shops our next stop was, what I believe is Tom's favorite place in Tombstone, The Bird Cage Theater. We have taken the self tour in the past and he has enjoyed the Ghost Tour. Today he purchased three tickets and we were directed to the entrance. I do believe Chris enjoyed her time in the Bird Cage looking at Tombstone's past and I know I did. The person who really enjoyed it though was Tom. I think he could go in there every time we visit and never get tired of spending time checking it out. I am pretty sure he would enjoy taking another ghost tour. The pictures from our walk through are pretty self explanatory.

We also took a ride out to the Ed Schieffelin Monument.
Considered to be the Founder of Tombstone this is his final
resting place. F
rom what I read last time we visited this
is the place he wanted to be buried. The shame is that it
really is not kept up and the question would be why.

About the house pictured above.

Our next stop where Chris bought us tickets to walk through.

Heading back home we made a stop at the San Pedro River.

Tom checking out the water temperature.

Looking straight down from the bridge.

Continuing home the mountains, the blue sky and

white clouds make for some beautiful views.

I think it is safe to say we all enjoyed the day. This is a beautiful area with so many things to see and do. We spent time taking in some of the highlights with Chris in the short amount of time she was here. Even though Tom and I have stayed in this area several times we know we have not even begun to see it all.

We are so glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

  1. You three made the best of your day in Tombstone. I've never gone in the Bird Cage Theater. I'll have to next time I'm there.

    1. The Bird Cage is an interesting stop. Though, I know Tom enjoyed the Ghost Tour when he took that a few years back more then the regular one we all went on.

  2. Glad you all Enjoyed your tour of Tombstone. We spent Five Days in 2008 learning all Tombstone but we are sure that we missed something and there's been changes as well.

    1. We have enjoyed several visits there and I know we have missed things. This time though we repeated some things since she had never been there.

  3. Tombstone and all of its attractions we have visited a few times and I can go there again and again and not get tired of it. It's the only place I know where a graveyard has an appeal. I'm sure we'll be back there some winter month.

    1. There are certainly enough things to see and do in Tombstone to keep coming back for. I know for sure Tom would never get tired of going there.

  5. We enjoyed Tombstone very much and hopefully we get another visit in before too many years have past. I am certain you folks had a great visit and I'll bet the grandkids would enjoy Tombstone at some point.
