A Good Day in the Desert!

 Wednesday, November 8, 2023

Chatting with my sister, who is back in the cold of Wisconsin, this morning I watched the sun come up. Tom brought out my coffee but did not stay out and brave the 54 degrees. Though he did brave the "cold" one more time and brought out an afghan to go with the shawl I was already bundled in. Then he went right back into the warmth inside the Stinger "B" and I am pretty sure the recliner...🥰

The sun coming up

on our day.

Looking towards the north as the sun made its way up in the East.

Tom put out our hummingbird feeder this morning and
we had two flying around almost immediately.
I could see this one up on a branch across the way.

Then he flew down to the feeder.

Our views as we sit out on our patio.

I never get tired of looking around at the mountains
surrounding us.

This hummingbird was either down sipping

or sitting up on this same branch for several hours this morning.

I was sitting out  and crocheting

and enjoyed watching the hummer

fly back and forth.

Today was pretty much like yesterday just relaxing and enjoying our time sitting outside and taking short walks around our spot. There is a list of things that we need to get done but for right now there is no hurry. The list is not going anywhere and there is nothing on it that cannot wait for another day.

Around 4 o'clock Tom looked out towards the road that comes into our spot and said it looks like Deb and Riley, On a long and lonesome highway.... are coming towards us.  We had heard from Deb this morning and at that time they were not sure if they would stop along the way for the night or drive straight through and arrive later today. When we had not heard anything from Deb by around 3 o'clock we were pretty sure they were coming in today

It was so nice to see this familiar truck, the Dogsled,
coming our way

with there new home following behind.

Deb turned around them Riley was out and heading our way.
I put my camera down at this point there were more important
things to take care of, like getting hugs.

We stood and did some catching up and then we headed back over to sit down and let them get parked and somewhat settled in. Those of us that RV know that unless someone asks for help getting out of the way is the thing to do. We all have our routines we follow when getting parked or packed up to leave and distractions are when things go wrong. Once they were settled they came over and invited us over for a tour of their new home. I will admit I was curious to see inside after seeing the pictures Deb posted on her blog. Very beautiful new home, Deb and Riley, Congratulations!

After the tour we sat down outside to do some more catching up until the chill in the evening air chased us inside our homes. It is going to be nice in the morning to push open the front curtain and see them parked out in our view.

While we sat outside this evening I remembered to take a
picture of the sun slipping behind the Dome Rock Mountains..
(It helped that I was facing the sun tonight...lol)

It was a good day parked in the desert near Quartzsite, Arizona. I started the day enjoying a hot cup of coffee Tom put in my hands while watching the sunrise and chatting with my sister back in Wisconsin. We ended the day sitting out while chatting with good friends as the sun set on our day. No other way to describe it other than it was A Good Day!

We are glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.

  1. Thank you. We too are happy to be together again and are looking forward to just enjoying the company and the desert. It is wonderful to look out the rear window and see the comforting sight of the Stinger B there.

  2. I do need to get busy, the hummers here have been protesting the lack of a feeder, and the quail are chattering away in the wash wondering why nothing for them either.

    1. I often wonder how they find us so quickly. They are here before we put the food out. Relaxing in the desert is pretty great.
