The sun was just starting to make an appearance when I stepped out the door this morning. I could feel the dampness in the air. The Jeep and the Stinger "B" were covered in dew. |
|
Again this morning a heavy mist had |
|
settled in along the mountains |
|
around us. |
|
The sun is up behind the clouds. |
|
Around 11 o'clock we could see blue sky |
|
and wonderful white clouds. |
|
Michelle and Doug and their beautiful home on wheels. |
Michelle and Doug have a home in Kingman, AZ; talking with them it sounds like they spend a good part of their time traveling in this beautiful blue motorhome. Nice and colorful just like the Stinger "B". Doug had contacted us through the blog last month about getting together when we were in the Laughlin area. (They had met Shirley and Ken,
Seeing America with Ken and Shirley, a few months back so she was able to give him our contact information.) Unfortunately, we got there just as they were leaving the area to visit family. Comparing schedules we could see we would be in Quartzsite at the same time in January so were looking forward to meeting them then. Then a couple of days ago we heard from them again. They were on there way a little north of us, going right through Quartzsite, and asked would getting together for lunch work. We were so glad they got in touch and it worked out to meet. What a lovely couple we had a nice lunch at Silly Al's and the conversation was wonderful. (Yes, Shirley we went to Silly Al's. No pictures you know me I have trouble remembering to take pictures. If it makes you feel any better, no pizza 😊 When you and Ken are here we can all go out for pizza.) We spent a great couple of hours getting to know them and chatting about this and that. As always when we are enjoying ourselves the time flew and in what seemed like no time at all it was time for then to continue on down the road.
Michelle and Doug, we are so glad you contacted us and we had the chance to meet both of you. Tom and I had a great time and are looking forward to the next time. Take care and travel safe.

About 4:30 I could see the sun shining through the clouds as it was making its way down towards the mountains. |
|
Someone new moved into the neighborhood this afternoon. They are our closes neighbors. |
|
The sun left quietly this evening. |
|
Then there was the smallest bit of color in the sky south of us. |
|
It is Friday and where we are from that means just about every restaurant has a Fish Fry special. Here in Quartzsite the VFW
holds a Friday Night Fish Fry. Tom is a lifetime member of the
VFW and we like to support the local posts where ever we are.
So we try to stop at least one time while we are in this area. |
Since the first year we met Kathy and Rick,
It's about time, we have made it a tradition to go out for a Fish Fry at the VFW together. Unfortunately, they will not be leaving Canada this winter. Missed you both this evening; we will just have to go twice next year. Stay warm.
We are glad you stopped by!
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.
Always nice to meet fellow RV'ers. There just never seems to be an end to the conversation.
ReplyDeleteA very nice set up for the VFW Friday night fish.
Such a little amount in your night sky you were fortunate to catch it.
It is always nice to meet fellow RVer's.
DeleteI was really watching and hoping for some color..:)
No pizza!? hahah. I'm glad you got to meet them, even before January. Love it when things like that work out! I'm hoping January works, believe me i'll let you know as soon as we know for sure! Beautiful pictures! I love the VFW is all decorated for Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteWe are truly hoping you two make it down here and for sure let us know as soon as you know !!!!
DeleteIt was nice to sit with the decorations at the VFW and enjoy the Fish Fry.
Those two brightly colored MHs would be a pretty sight going down the road. Nice you were able to meet up.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to meet up and spend some time with them.
DeleteLove the Bright Colours of the MHs, the Scenery and Sunsets.
ReplyDeleteTruly miss visiting with you both and our Fish Fry Fridays.
If you swing by our normal spot Wayne and Sue are next door. You met them at the Campfires. Say Hi for us.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
We miss being able to spend time with the two of you, also. If we see Wayne and Sue we will say, hi for you.
DeleteThe first thing I thought when I saw your friends RV was "it's a blue Stinger B" :-) How can you go to Silly Al's and not have pizza???
