Three Good Days

(Clicking on the pictures will open them larger in a new window.)

February 2, 2018

Today started out, like so many, slow and we enjoyed the sitting, relaxing, and coffee. After I sorted the clothes Tom took off to the laundry mat to wash and dry. The nice guy that he is most of it comes back folded, especially his jeans...LOL. He was not back very long and while I was putting things away a truck pulled up with Kathy and Rick, It's about time, inside. What a nice surprise. We had seen them at Bloggerfest but did not have much time to talk. Plus, we knew from their blog Kathy had not been feeling the best so we were glad to see she was feeling better and they could stop by. It was nice to sit and catch up.
A little later a truck pulling a cute Jayco Travel Trailer pulled in beside us with Shirley and Ken, Seeing America with Ken and Shirley, inside. She had mentioned in their blog they were coming back up this way to LaPosa South so we were hoping we would see them for Happy Hour and there they were just in time. (Of course, any time they would have gotten here would have been just in time.) The visiting and conversation continued to flow and as always the time flew. Then Kathy spotted the blimp so I did get a couple of pictures of it and with camera in hand I had everyone "squish" together for a quick photo. So many times I forget to take that photo of the group.

Goodyear Blimp went by as we were sitting out
enjoying Happy Hour with friends.

I "borrowed" this from Kathy and Rick's blog. I had taken two pictures of the
group above. In the first one Rick's camera was covering Kathy's face.
When I read their blog I found out why.

The sun starting its descent towards the mountains in the West.

Our new neighbors across the road.

We had some nice after glow this evening.

I glanced over towards our neighbors, Shirley and Ken; I still had my zoom
lens on, so I was able to capture them watching the sunset.
How cute are they sitting there in their little fold out love seat?

The last of tonight's light from the sun.

A little later I went out and was able to capture the light of the
moon coming up over the mountains in the East.

No longer a full moon  but still beautiful.

February 3, 2018

I was up just in time this morning to capture the sun popping up over the mountains. A great start to another day parked in the beauty of the desert.

Not sure how I got this shot...:) but I thought, good job.

I could not believe it but this morning it was actually warm enough to
sit out in my chair and watch the moon making its decent in the West.

My first time sitting out this year and enjoying my coffee with the warmth
of the sun on my back. Tom's chair was empty as he did not agree about the
warmth but then I was wrapped in my shawl.
He did bring me out the coffee!

With the sun rising higher in the East the moon became less and less visible.

There is something about the morning shadows I love.

Kathy and Rick invited us over for a campfire this evening.
So given the opportunity to visit again with the bonus of
a campfire we packed our chairs, grabbed a drink, and headed over
to Kathy and Rick's place.

The group from the left: Wayne, Sue, Kathy, Rick, and Tom

Tom took this one so I could be in a picture by the fire.
It was nice getting to meet Wayne and Sue.
It was a great fire as was the conversation.
Thank you, Kathy and Rick, for having us over.

February 4, 2018

Being Sunday we are off to Mass in Blythe at St. Joan of Arc. This time we remembered about the time change so we were not an hour early. After Mass we had breakfast at Denny's in Blythe and we enjoyed it.

A few pictures of our ride over to Blythe. I know I have written it before but it is true we never get tired of the views and the ride over to Blythe is no exception.

Our shadow is keeping up.

Even with the other "stuff" in the way I love turning the bend in the road
and seeing this view.

We agree today was an "A" day!

No taking those Arizona beverage containers into California.

Today was our last Happy Hour for this year at LaPosa South and what a nice one it was. As Tom and I sat outside enjoying our "adult" beverages a very pretty blue truck pulled up with Cheryl and Dave inside, Our View From Here. What a nice surprise to have them stop by. They did not want to intrude, like they could have but can I just say, if you had, those are our favorite type of intrusions, after we convinced them to sit down we had such a great visit. Not long after Shirley and Ken walked over to join us and as always the time flew. I will just say the conversation flowed so well that no one noticed, until the sun was slipping behind the mountains, what time it was. A great memory to have of out last evening sitting out in the desert with friends. I say it again, we feel so blessed to be living our dream and meeting such special people. It is a good life.

We truly enjoyed the gift of these three days. Hope you had a good weekend, also.
If you have time to leave a comment we would enjoy hearing from you.
